The health and safety of our sisters is ALWAYS our number one priority. In response to the most recent Executive Order GA-34 given by our Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, we will still require face masks to be worn at Dirt Side Sisters rides and events wherever it is not feasible to maintain six feet of social distancing from another person not in the same household. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in our efforts to keep our volunteers and members healthy.
The latest update can be found under “Executive Orders Related to Opening the State of Texas” on the following website:
Although the limitations on group size have been lifted, we will continue to keep the group sizes small and rides open to DSS Members only. What we found by implementing smaller groups and pre-registration, was that:
- It allowed us to have more one on one teaching time with each rider, which resulted in an even greater learning experience.
- By knowing the number of members signed up, we were able to assign the proper number of ride leaders and sweeps to each group ahead of time. This helps keep the ride safer, flowing smooth, and allows us to coordinate with volunteers in advance.
- We had contact information attached to each member. This allowed us to send a personalized email after each ride with pictures taken from the ride and video where they could review their riding form and body mechanics.
If there is one thing we have learned, we must be okay with ever-evolving plans!
